CVT Week 1
This first week of classes flew by. It seems like yesterday I was anxiously awaiting starting this program, and now we’re already one week in. My classes, so far at least, seem pretty damn interesting. The instructors are excellent. I could not ask for better teachers. Each of them is really smart, have an amazing sense of humor, and seem to know how to relate to the students and not just dump an excess of information on them. Perhaps it’s the nature of the program and that these will be the same instructors we’re dealing with for the next two years. I don’t know. Whatever it is, I couldn’t be happier.
My classmates are awesome. I already get along great with a good number of them. It’s the complete opposite of the last few semesters where most of the kids just wanted to get in and out of class and have little interaction and the people I talked to were few and far between. The people in my class are nice, and the ones in the class ahead of us have been great. They’ve stopped in a few times and kind of checked up on us throughout the week and given us a lot of good advice.
Since we’re on the summer session, everything is crammed together. Half of our classes end in about 5 weeks. Then we’ll have a slightly easier schedule as we drop from four classes to two. Sure, it’s still Ultrasound Physics and Patient Care, but no problem.
Next semester is when the fun really begins and we get into the hands on stuff with Ultrasounds and Cardiac Catheterization. I’m really looking forward to that.
So, so far, all is golden. I couldn’t be happier with my choice in programs.
